TASTING NOTES
While only in its second vintage, Loam has embodied our pursuit of the perfect expression of a wine. Great wine originates in the vineyard, and great vineyards originate in great soil. Most world-renown viticultural regions consist of loam soils, Sonoma County is no exception. Within the loam family of soils is an array of classifications, or “series”, identified
and catalogued by four distinctive features: composition, depth, slope and geographic location.

The 2007 Loam Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon is the proprietary blend of our series of single soil wines Positas, Suther, and Clough as well as two additional great soils: Josephine and Cole. It is comprised of the best vineyards, grown in the best soil, from the best appellations. Perfectly structured, Loam balances the bright focused tannins of hillside fruit with
the dense, rich characteristics of fruit grown in the ancient river bed and valley floor soils. The 2007 showcases the beautifully ripened fruit and the lush tannins. The vintage is deserving of the great accolades and the wines will age beautifully for the next decade.
